How is SleeveTec different from other fuser roller coating technologies?

The SleeveTec coating can be produced as a hard roller, similar to other Teflon spray rollers, or they can be a “soft” roller with a silicone cushion between the sleeve coating and the aluminum or steel core. Q2’s soft SleeveTec rollers are currently used in higher speed Canon IR8500/7105/105 machines, Q2 part number CNIR105UFR. The soft coating technology is being considered for certain color applications as well.
Q2’s SleeveTec coating is also very good for extremely thin-walled fuser rollers, like the Ricoh AF1035/1045/2035/2045 roller, Q2 part number RCAF1045UFR. Thin-walled rollers using traditional spray coating materials can be very difficult to coat and polish. Unpolished rollers are usually more porous and, therefore, susceptible to toner offsetting issues. SleeveTec rollers have a very smooth and consistent surface which helps to extend the life of the roller and minimize unexpected performance issues. |
